When you are 22 years young and get the opportunity to make your debut in the Champions League, then of course you jump on this. For Antonin Kinsky, it was a debut with two blunders he now needs to escape from. Many would say it was absolutely crazy to bring in a 22-year-old goalkeeper with only two cup games on the pitch this season, one against Doncaster. Especially when it came to the Champions League, round of 8, against Atletico Madrid, in Madrid. It also didn’t help that Kinsky was substituted after 17 minutes.

Even Atletico star Antoine Griezmann thought it was strange, that Tottenham coach Igor Tudor first chooses a debutant, then pulls him off the pitch after the quarter of an hour. Not surprisingly, the experience has put a shock in the young goalkeeper.

According to The Telegraph , Kinsky is expected to apply for a loan spell when the transfer window opens this summer, with the 22-year-old looking to build up his confidence, as it could be difficult for him to play for Tottenham again after yesterday’s humiliating defeat.

Sounds reasonable. We remember with horror Loris Karius’ Champions League game for Liverpool, which marked the goalkeeper for the rest of his career.

We hope Kinsky has the right apparatus around him, after all, football is just “the most important of the things that don’t matter in this world”.
