Ruben Amorim has finally received results from the work he started in November 2024. Cunha and Mbeumo well established in the United attack with success, Benjamin Sesko shows he has the potential for more and the calm has descended with Senne Lammens on the line. In January, the midfield will get a real injection of energy, precision, extreme stamina and flair. Man Utd are going for a long-term solution.
It’s about Elliot Anderson. Brought to Nottingham Forest from Newcastle, in the summer of 2024, for £35 million, now one of the most sought-after central midfielders in England.

The 22-year-old has caught the attention of Ruben Amoriom. According to Teamtalk’s sources, the Portuguese is very keen to get more dynamism and running capacity in the “engine room” of midfield, where Anderson’s extreme work effort, precision and box-to-box stamina are the perfect match for Amorim’s high-intensity system.
The United manager’s attacking philosophy of faster attacks rather than more controlled and deliberate build-ups is also perfect for Anderson, with his ability to break the lines with precise passing.
Teamtalk’s “sources at the club” claim United will make a clear bid for Anderson in January, with club management reportedly “confident” that the 22-year-old himself would be “very keen” for a move to Old Trafford.

Nottingham Forest, however, have drawn a clear line: pay big, or disappear. With a big deal, around £80 million is reported, while the United management believes a deal can be made for close to £60 million.
