Alexander Isak. The Premier League’s most talked about player this summer. The contract with Newcastle runs until 2028, negotiations for an extension seem to have foundered. It is reported that the league’s best striker last season has let the club know that he is open to exiting this summer. Liverpool is strongly linked to Isak, as is the trip to Saudi Arabian money bins and desert football. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is still planning for the top scorer to turn up for the start of the season – in the zebra-striped shirt.
“Of course, things happen behind the scenes. He is aware that he is in the news every day, and I am sure that it is not easy for anyone in that situation. Conversations between Alex and the club, or Alex and myself, remain private for obvious reasons,” Eddie Howe begins to the Daily Mail.

Who does everything to ensure he has the Swede with him further in the season as reigning league champions and with a Champions League ticket.
“We have a very good relationship with him. He has been fantastic for us and is very popular in the dressing room. We would have liked to see him continue his journey at Newcastle. I really hope he stays,” Howe continues.
Who do more than hope.
-I said last weekend that I was convinced that he would stay. I don’t see anything that changes that view at the moment,” an optimistic Newcastle manager continues.

“But it’s football, and who knows what the future holds. All I want to say about the bigger picture is that whatever happens, it has to be the right thing for Newcastle. We are in a very strong financial position. We are determined to succeed,” concludes Eddie Howe.
