Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has so far only had one success as a manager. Gerrard managed Rangers between 2018 and 2021. His time in Scotland was his most successful as a manager, Rangers beating dominant Celtick for once when they lifted the Scottish league title in 2021.
After an unsuccessful stint as manager of Aston Villa and almost a year on the sidelines, he was brought to Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2023, mostly because he could, due to his legend status, bring other stars to the desert country.

The football itself is not so careful and the level of the league is miserable, yet Steven Gerrard’s team Al-Ettifaqs have not been able to assert themselves. – After the last loss, Steven Gerrard was booed by the crowd.
Al-Ettifaq are in the bottom half of the table and at the weekend the club suffered a heavy derby loss against Al-Qadsiah at home. Gerrard’s men have now lost four of their last six league games.
Gerrard and his team are being booed by their own supporters after the weekend’s defeat, while Saudi media say the 44-year-old is hanging loose from his position at the club.
During Gerrard’s time at Al-Ettifaq, the club has a winning percentage of less than 40 percent.

More recently, Gerrard has been linked with a return to Rangers. The Scottish club’s manager Philip Clement has had a difficult start to the season and is already well behind Celtic and Aberdeen in the domestic league.
Between 2021 and 2022, Gerrard was in charge of Aston Villa in the Premier League.
