‘He must not leave’ – Szoboszlai urges Liverpool to renew Salah’s contract.
Liverpool came from 2-1 down to beat Southampton 3-2 in the Premier League, with Mohamed Salah the star of the show again.
The Egyptian international scored two second-half goals to overturn Liverpool’s deficit into a huge win, with the Reds now eight points clear at the top of the Premier League with Manchester City losing to Tottenham on Saturday.
Hungarian Dominik Szoboszlai, one of Liverpool’s most important players, expressed his optimism that his teammate Mohamed Salah will stay with the team for a very long time, after their exciting victory over Southampton.

Salah now boasts 12 goals and 10 assists in 18 games this season, with his contract at Liverpool expiring in the summer of 2025. No renewal agreement has been reached yet.
The winger’s contract with the Reds is due to expire at the end of this season, with Salah already attracting interest from Saudi Arabia ahead of leaving Liverpool for free in the summer transfer window.
Szoboszlai is likely not alone in wanting Salah to stay beyond this season.
The Reds can’t give up this easily on Salah leaving the club, with the attacker too good to be allowed to leave for free next summer.
Salah is in the form of his life and still has much to give for Liverpool under Arne Slot, and the Reds need to do all they can to keep the attacker at the club for as long as possible.
