Liverpool fans have reacted to one of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s latest social media posts ahead of the Champions League clash with Real Madrid.
Liverpool have had a great start to the season under new manager Arne Slot and are currently eight points ahead at the top of the Premier League. The Reds are also at the top of the Champions League table, having won all four of their games in the competition so far this season.

Slot’s side face their toughest test in the league phase on Wednesday night when defending champions Real Madrid visit Anfield.
The two teams have faced each other on several occasions in Europe in recent seasons, with Liverpool losing to the Spanish side in both the 2018 and 2022 Champions League finals.
There is another exciting story in the game, Liverpool defender Alexander-Arnold heavily linked with a move to Madrid. The 26-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and has not yet committed to a new long-term deal, the same situation as teammates Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.
Alexander-Arnold is known to be a close friend of Jude Bellingham, who chose Real Madrid over Liverpool in 2023.
With speculation surrounding his future, Alexander-Arnold has angered some Liverpool fans with a post on social media.
He posted a photo of himself with a Google Pixel phone on Instagram, with the caption of the ad: “Trust me to make the switch…. to Google Pixel”, followed by a wink emoji.
Some Liverpool supporters failed to see the funny side of the post, with one commenting on Reddit: “Trent has a big decision to make. Will he be Steven Gerrard? Or Steve McManaman?
“A choice of two Steve’s, I know which one I would choose.”
Another added: “If he stays, this is elite f***ery from the boy and this will be a running joke for the years to come. If he actually leaves, this post is going to come back to bite him, he’s going to face a huge amount of resentment from the fanbase.”
Others, however, were more optimistic about the post and its potential significance.
“I take the trolling as a ‘don’t worry guys, I’m not leaving’ lmao,” another fan added.
While another wrote: “I think he trolls Madrid more than us. We don’t want him to switch, they do.”
