It will cost at least €100 million, but Manchester United believe it is worth it to secure the player who is referred to as a “future Ballon d’Or winner”.

This is one of the biggest talents in Serie A.

Ruben Amorim says it will take time and asks for patience.

Ruben Amorim is up and running as Manchester United manager after officially joining from Portuguese club Sporting earlier this month. – He got his first taste of what it’s like to manage Manchester United on Sunday when they drew 1-1 with Ipswich Town, a result that shows the magnitude of the task facing Amorim.

The Red Devils are currently 12th in the Premier League, already 15 points behind league leaders Liverpool after just 12 games. – Amorim’s predecessor Erik ten Hag spent more than £600 million on new signings during his time as manager at United, leaving the Portuguese with a potentially limited transfer budget in January.

But that hasn’t stopped the club from aiming for potential signings for the Portuguese. Now, a sensational report in Italy claims that United are planning a purchase of Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Sportmediaset reports that United are making a “serious” attempt for the Georgian star, who has scored 30 goals and provided 28 assists in 103 appearances for Napoli. Amorim is said to see him as a “key target” for the inside striker in his preferred 3-4-3 setup.

Kvaratskhelia is out of contract in 2027 and Napoli are keen to tie him down to a new long-term deal.

The Serie A leaders are said to have offered him a €6 million contract to convince him to stay.

However, United are prepared to offer him a €9 million deal, which Napoli would not be able to match.

The report adds that if Kvaratskhelia’s future is not resolved by the end of the season, Napoli could look to sell the winger – but a sum of around €100 million would be needed to convince the Italian club to sell.

Kvaratskhelia has scored five goals in 15 games this season to help Napoli to the top of Serie A, where they are one point ahead of four teams – Atalanta, Inter, Fiorentina and Lazio.

Speaking of last year, Kvaratskhelia’s former Napoli teammate Victor Osimhen tipped the Georgian to challenge for the Ballon d’Or in the coming seasons.

“He’s a great guy, I understood that immediately,” Osimhen said.

“Everyone loves him in the dressing room, not only for what he does on the pitch, but also for what he does off the pitch.

“I think he can win the Ballon d’Or in the next few years, I hope he also brings many successes to Naples.”
