Polish striker Robert Lewandowski is very impressive! Year in and year out, he has been banging in goals, first for Bayern Munich for a number of years, then for Barcelona. – Manager Hansi Flick, who also benefited from Lewandowski’s consistent goals in both the Bundesliga and Champions League, knows what enormous capacity he possesses.

The two have shared triumph in the Champions League with Bayern Munich, now they share it again with Barcelona.

In yesterday’s Champions League match, Robert Lewandowski at the reserve stadium Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys both started and finished the ball, equalizing a milestone that only two other European legends have reached.

Barcelona’s superstar Robert Lewandowski has scored his 100th goal in the Champions League, matching the milestone set by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The Champions League returned on Tuesday night as several of the top clubs in Europe competed to take three much-needed points in the brand new format.

To win four consecutive victories in the competition, La Liga giants faced Barcelona against high-flying French club Brest in a top-flight clash in the table.

And early in the game, Lewandowski put his team ahead after reaching a century of goals in the Champions League, making him only the third player to reach the impressive milestone.

In his 125th game in the European top competition, the Polish striker won a penalty early in the game after being fouled by Marco Bizot in the box.

Lewandowski then coolly stepped up to take the penalty himself and calmly slotted it past the Dutch goalkeeper to lead the Spanish team to 1-0.

Only Ronaldo and Messi have reached 100 goals in the Champions League, which shows how difficult it is to achieve such an impressive goal.

Ronaldo became the first player to reach a century of goals in UEFA club competition after setting up a shot for Real Madrid in the match against Bayern Munich in April 2017, eleven years and eight months after his first Champions League goal.

In total, it took Ronaldo 144 games to reach 100 goals.

Meanwhile, long-term rival Messi did it in 123 games as he became the second player to reach the milestone after scoring two for Barcelona in the match against Chelsea in March 2018.

In total, the Argentine has scored 129 goals in 163 Champions League games, while Ronaldo has found the back of the net 140 times in 183 games.

Former Real Madrid star Karim Benzema came within touching distance of reaching the milestone after scoring 90 goals in 152 Champions League appearances for the La Liga team and Lyon between 2005 and 2023.

However, the Frenchman is unlikely to score the final 10 goals needed to reach 100 in the competition after securing a move outside Europe to join Saudi Pro League club Al Ittihad in July 2023.
