There are plenty of wingers growing on the Norwegian national team, but in front of a Nusa and a Bobb, there is a former Molde player who has gone up the trail. On Friday, Mohamed Elyounoussi will receive his well-deserved recognition in the Danish Superliga.
There were quite a few FC Copenhagen supporters who held their breath this summer. Their Norwegian star player had a low-threshold exit clause, where a club with a few million could take the 30-year-old out of the club. Elyounoussi chose FC Copenhagen, this week he showed with another beautiful goal that this is a really good football marriage for all parties.

Mohamed Elyounoussis was brought to FC Copenhagen from Southampton in 2023. It didn’t take the Norwegian international many kicks on the ball before he played himself into one of the supporters’ favorites. Important part of the team that sent Manchester United out of the Champions League and FCK through from the group stage. Almost midway through the 2024/25 season, he stands with a total of 22 goals and 16 assists in 73 games in the FCK shirt.
On Friday, it became clear that the Norwegian is the “Biggest profile in the Danish Super League” this autumn. Tipsbladet is behind the award, and asks the 30-year-old the usual question: How does it feel?
“It’s very big. It’s not like it’s a goal I have to win individual awards – my goal is solely to win the Superliga with FC Copenhagen. But of course I’m happy, because it means that I’m doing something right, says the winner Elyounoussi to Tipsbladet.
All coaches in the league have voted for the winner, with Eyounoussi getting 42 points out of a possible 55. Congratulations!
