Now there is full focus from Liverpool’s side.

A deal for Virgil van Dijk is all but done. However, there has been more concern about the futures of Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah.

The right-back has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, who are keen to bolster that area after a serious injury to Dani Carvajal. With Trent available for nothing, he is seen as an attractive option for the Bernabeu club, especially with his good friend Jude Bellingham starring in the Spanish capital.

Mohamed Salah, meanwhile, continues to be heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League as well as Paris Saint-Germin

“I’m probably more outside than inside”.

to the media, Salah dropped a bombshell in November when he said: “We are almost in December and I have not yet received any offers to stay at the club. I’m probably more outside than inside.

“You know I’ve been at the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end, it’s not in my hands. As I said before, it’s December and I haven’t gotten anything about my future yet.

“I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end, it’s not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see.”

Liverpool’s contract situation is clear
Liverpool are making solid progress to keep Van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold and Salah, with contract offers coming on the line, reports The Athletic.

It is reported that talks with Van Dijk have been going on for an extended period of time and are still progressing.

For Alexander-Arnold, meanwhile, the Reds have been warned that it is “unclear” how the talks will end, but that there will be a new offer very soon.

No offer has been made for Salah yet, as the striker suggested, but it is believed that Liverpool will make him an offer soon.
