A retired Egyptian star has claimed to know where Mohamed Salah’s future lies.

Salah has already scored 13 goals and provided eight assists in just 14 Premier League games this season, and fans are desperate to see him put pen to paper to stay at Anfield.

But the Egyptian forward has cast doubt on his future, telling the media that he was “more out than in” and had yet to receive a contract offer from Liverpool following their 3-2 win over Southampton last month.

And asked after the 2-0 win over Manchester City the following Sunday, telling Sky Sports: “Honestly, it’s in my head, until now this is the last City game I’m going to play for Liverpool, so I was just going to enjoy it. “

Speculation has been rife about Salah’s potential next club if he leaves Anfield, with reported interest from PSG and a renewed offer from the Saudi Pro League also expected.

But former Egypt defender Haytham Farouk has sensationally claimed that fans can only relax:

On Twitter, the 53-year-old seems to congratulate Salah on his new contract with Liverpool.

“Congratulations on the renewal of your contract with the number you like and the period you want,” Farouk said.

“The Egyptian king rules with his own judgments.”

The post thrilled Liverpool fans as Farouk is one of only 146 people Salah follows on social media

He works as an analyst for beIN Sports, and is clearly close to the Liverpool star. Farouk appeared 13 times for Egypt and enjoyed a successful club career, while also playing at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.

However, other Reds fans exercised some caution, suggesting that as the photo was posted during Newcastle’s 3-3 draw with Liverpool on Wednesday is a kind of game to get paid even more than what Liverpool will pay.

After the aforementioned 3-3 draw – in which Salah scored twice in the second half – Liverpool manager Arne Slot said: “Every time we need Mo Salah, he scores a goal.

“We hope and expect that he can continue this for a long time. He was outstanding in the second half. He did many special things for us.”
