Old Firm. Celtic vs. Rangers. A story that has deep wounds, far beyond the turf. On Sunday, it was time for the League Cup final between the two Glasgow clubs, a Dane was a strong contributor to Celtic’s victory.

Kasper Schmeichel was persuaded this summer by old coach Roy Rodgers to move north to Scottish football, the Dane took a minute before accepting and has not regretted it since.

On Sunday, the Dane stood in the way when the final was to be decided on penalties after a terrific 3-3 result after regulation time and goalless in extra time.

Schmeichel showed in the Premier League he was one of the biggest penalty savers, on Rangers’ 4th penalty came the decisive save from the 38-year-old. Celtic captured the League Cup title, Schmeichel is really back in top form.
