The New York Red Bulls have signed Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting to an MLS contract. The club has given him a contract through 2026 with an option for 2027 pending receipt of his P-1 visa and ITC.
“We are delighted to add a player of Maxim’s calibre to our list,” sporting director Jochen Schneider said on the club’s pages. “Maxim is a great player, a winner and his experience in Europe’s top leagues will be very important for our club in 2025 and beyond.”
We don’t have to go back many years before Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was one of the really greats, but the arrows have been pointing downwards and after the 35-year-old left Bayern Munich, it has become difficult to find a club that matched.

Choupo-Moting has scored 20 goals in 73 caps for Cameroon. He has played for clubs such as Schalke 04, Stoke and Paris Saint-Germain.
