Ahead of tonight’s quarter-final in the English League Cup, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou couldn’t stop himself from commenting on visiting Manchester United and their relationship with one of their stars.

A journalist came up with the obvious question: “There is a bit of noise around Manchester United during the day considering the situation of Marcus Rashford” … but before he could finish formulating a question, Ange Postecoglou broke in: “There is always noise around Manchester United. Come on, where have you been?.

While Alejandro Garnacho is in the squad for tonight’s game, Marcus Rashford is still out.

Alejandro Garnacho, like Marcus Rashford, was left out of Ruben Amorim’s matchday squad for last Sunday’s meeting with Manchester City in the Premier League, a game Manchester United brought home in the closing minutes.

On Thursday, the British newspaper Daily Mail reported that five big clubs – Bayern Munich, Barcelona, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid – have their eyes on Garnacho. According to the newspaper, United could consider selling the attacking player in the future, but that would require at least £70 million.

The 20-year-old joined United’s academy from Atlético in 2020 and has since scored 23 goals and 13 assists in 110 appearances.
