Ange Postecoglou has had months of repeated critical questions from English journalists about the football he delivers as Spurs manager. So when the same question came up after the terrific League Cup quarter-final against Manchester United, the Australian felt compelled to pull out a Gladiator quote.
“Are you not entertained?!”, Postecoglou growled. With a 4-3 win and a match-winning goal in the final minutes, the Spurs manager didn’t bother to answer negative questions.
-Come on, do you want a close 1-0 game? I’m sure the studio (experts) are intimidated by my lack of tactics, but I love that we go out there that way despite so much damage. Goalkeepers, both stoppers and left-backs. We have so many youngsters on the bench and yet these boys uphold our principles,” Postecoglou said, according to Sky Sports.
Who knows this victory will be important beyond reaching the semi-finals.
“If we get through this period, I think we will get a lot out of it,” says Ange Postecoglou.
