Hassan El Fakiri has a long history with Brann. – The Norwegian Moroccan coach ended his career as a player at the Bergen club and gradually moved into an assistant role. The former midfielder had an exciting journey as a player, a journey that started in Lyn, a season with Brann before it carried out into the big world with games for both Monaco and Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Brann confirms that Hassan El Fakiri will be the new assistant coach at French Saint Etienne. – It is probably wise as Eurik Horneland does not speak French while El Fakiri speaks French fluently.
Then Eirik Horneland can stand on the sidelines and shout: “Come on guys” and then Hassan El Fakiri can shout to the players: “Allez les gars” … Smart!
The Brann assistant joins Eirik Horneland in France!
- Brann and Bergen have meant a lot to me. Ever since I cycled outside Ullevaal as an 11-year-old and experienced the atmosphere the Brann supporters created, I set myself a goal of playing for Brann. Now I have been at the club for almost 15 years, both as a player and as a coach,” El Fakiri told Brann.no.
“It’s been a childhood dream come true and I want to thank the club, the supporters, the city and all the people at the club. I hope this is a “see you soon”, and not “goodbye”. I travel to become a better coach, and hope that one day I can come back and do an even better job for Brann”
