Everton now officially have new owners. When we have seen how the Americans in The Friedkin Group have fired coaches at a wild pace at Roma, it is expected that Sean Dyche at the first meeting with the new owner will be told that he will have to find another job. Three wins from 14 Premier League games gives the club three points of “breathing space” above the relegation zone. Dyche talks about a completely different first conversation with the new owners.
The Everton manager has had the big talk with Everton’s new chairman, Marc Watts, Dyche is happy to talk about the outcome.
“He (Watts) said: ‘We have no reason to question you, there is every reason to support what you have done and hopefully support it further in the future’. I know you still have to win games. And when you win games, hopefully you continue to build a relationship,” Dyche said, according to Reuters.
For those who remember the impressive performances Sean Dyche put in as Everton manager in the second half of last season (inflicting defeat on Jürgen Klopp in his last Merseyside derby), this is good news. Everton are going to work long-term, so there is no reason to remove the coach who has shown he delivers when it comes to survival in the Premier League.
