Several Liverpool stars still face an uncertain future at Anfield.

A Liverpool star has reportedly decided on his next club due to uncertainty over his contract at Anfield.

The Reds have had a fantastic start to life under new boss Arne Slot, who took over from the legendary Jürgen Klopp in the summer. Currently, Liverpool are two points ahead at the top of the Premier League and also have a three-point lead at the top of the UEFA Champions League table.

Later today, Liverpool travel to London to face Tottenham.

However, despite their positive start to the season, there are major concerns about the future of some of their key players. The likes of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold will leave the club for free next summer if a new deal cannot be agreed.

There have also been reports about the future of winger Luis Diaz. According to Spanish news agency Antena 2, Liverpool are facing some “hurdles” in their bid to extend Diaz’s contract, which will expire in 2027.

As a result, it has been suggested that the Colombian would be interested in moving to Barcelona if he fails to renew himself at Anfield. However, it has been said that Diaz is not pushing for an exit, but is ‘positioning himself’ to join Barcelona if he decides to leave Liverpool.

Apart from Barcelona, it is believed that French champions Paris Saint Germain and Italian giants AC Milan are also keeping a close eye on the situation.

So far this season, Diaz has been used in a number of different positions by Slot, including as a centre-forward.

After Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Southampton in the Carabao Cup, Slot spoke about how Diaz’s role could change given the fact that Diogo Jota is close to full form.

The Dutchman said: “People said a week ago that Darwin Nunez’s numbers are not high enough, but he has now got a goal and an assist.

“Lucho can play in that position. He has done very well for us in that role. He has played several games as a winger, but we know he can do it. Darwin and Jota are there, but Lucho is definitely an option.”
