The crisis club Valencia has bought a free West Bromwich manager.
As of today, there are no Norwegian players in Valencia, but there may be one who “gets promoted”. This summer, Tromsø boy Alexander Gurendal was promoted from Valencia’s U19 team to the club B team, if the left winger moves up to the first team, as many believe for the spring season, it will be with a new manager.
Club icon Ruben Baraja has led Valencia down to the south, which ensured that he was fired on Christmas Eve.
Valencia are second to last in La Liga with only 12 points after 17 games.
Carlos Corberan is already in place, he is bought by West Bromwich. The contract is written until 2027.
Carlos Corberán will be the new coach of Valencia CF until 2027. The club has informed West Bromwich Albion FC of the implementation of the exit option stipulated in the contract to part ways with the English team.
Carlos Corberán (04/07/1983) arrives at Valencia CF after his time in England, where he has spent most of his career. The new Valencia coach coached Huddersfield Town for two years, and after a brief spell at Olympiakos FC, he returned to the UK to coach West Bromwich Albion, a team he played with in the Premier League promotion play-offs last season.
The coach from Cheste (Valencia) began his career on the bench at the age of 23, training in the lower categories of Villarreal CF and over the last few seasons he has gained experience in various competitive environments of international football. He has also been Marcelo Bielsa’s assistant at Leeds. (Bielsa is now the national team manager of Uruguay)
- Valencia are paying up over three million euros to link the 41-year-old to them.
Corberán has previously worked at clubs such as Olympiakos and Huddersfield. He has a past at Valencia as a player in the B team and youth academy.
