Patrick Metcalfe has played all, ALL, of Fredrikstad’s 70 official games since he arrived from Stabæk in March last year. But we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. Expect we will soon know what happens next for the “clubless” Canadian midfielder.
Fredrikstad is definitely back at the top of Norwegian football. – After many years down in the valley of shadows, they landed this year’s Eliteserien season in a nice 6th place, only two points behind games in Europe. The good return to the Eliteserien was crowned when Fredrikstad defeated Molde as Norwegian champions.
“My time in Fredrikstad has been absolutely fantastic. I felt a warm welcome from the day I arrived from everyone involved in the club and especially the fans. To be able to give back to the city with promotion, NM gold and a place in the Europa League qualifiers is a fantastic achievement, says Metcalfe to Fredrikstad’s pages.
His first season at FFK ended with a highly anticipated promotion, while the second culminated in a cup triumph.
- Winning the Norwegian Championship is the best moment of my career so far. I was lucky enough to have my family and friends at the game as well, so that made it even more special. The atmosphere of the game and the celebration afterwards with the fans is something I will remember for the rest of my life,” says the midfielder.
Football director Joacim Heier praises the effort the Canadian has put in.
– Patrick is a top professional player and has done a very good job for FFK in his two years in Fredrikstad. We thank him for his efforts in the FFK jersey and wish him lots of luck in the next stage of his career.
