It’s been a long time since Stoke City were up in the Premier League, and it’s not going to happen anytime soon. Now they have brought in an interim coach who has experience from the top level in England.

A bit of history! Stoke City were promoted to the Premier League in 2008 under the management of Tony Pulis and exactly ten years later it was down to the Champinship again. The goal this season was to fight their way back, but the opposite has happened, now a battle is being fought against relegation to League One.

The U21 manager who made 453 appearances for the Potters who plays Ryan Shawcross has taken over the charge of Stoke City in the middle, he will be assisted by Alex Morris, Dean Whitehead and Darren Behcet.

Stoke City chose to sack their manager Narcís Pelach after a 2-0 loss at home at the Britannia Stadium to Leeds on “Boxing Day”.

During Friday, Stoke City chose to sack Narcís Pelach, who has not won a game since the beginning of November. On Saturday, the club announced on their website that the team will be led by Ryan Shawcross in the upcoming match.

The 37-year-old is usually the manager of the club’s U21 team and during his active career played 453 games and 25 goals for Stoke, 317 of which came in the Premier League.

The next game for the team will be played on Sunday against Sudnerland at home. Stoke are in 19th place in the Championship.

Ryan Shawcross also belonged to Manchester United, Royal Antwerp and Miami during his playing career which ended in 2022. He also made one cap for England.
