England international Marc Guéhi is “only” 182 cm tall, but still a towering figure in any defence.

The tense atmosphere at Selhurst Park has been going on for a while, but despite that, attempts to sign Marc Guéhi last summer have not been successful. Newcastle were very serious in their attempts to secure a transfer for the 24-year-old. Reports claimed that the club from the northwest of England had made bids as many as four times – to no avail.

The defender remained at Crystal Palace, where he joined from Chelsea in 2021, but is still in demand. And with his progress, Palace are expected to sell him in the summer, or this winter, if there is something extra in the pot.

Now the BBC and Sky Sports write that Chelsea want to sign the 24-year-old back. “The Blues” are eager to strengthen the backline with Guéhi, but have not yet made an offer.

The reason is stated to be that defender Wesley Fofana could miss the entire season as a result of an injury.

Chelsea are fourth in the Premier League with Newcastle just a point behind. Crystal Palace are down in 15th place.
