There has been a lot of bench grinding for Robin Olsen, who has ended up far behind Aston Villa’s definitive first goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez. The Swedish national team goalkeeper has reached the age of 35 and does not want to sign an extension of his contract that expires in the summer, simply because he wants to play football.

Two of his old clubs want to bring him “home”! – Expressen writes that the reigning Allsvenskan champions Malmö FF are ready to sign, while Tipsbladet writes that FC Copenhagen wants that too.

Conversations should be underway!

There have been rumours for a while that Robin Olsen wants to leave Aston Villa as he hardly ever plays. In late autumn, Expressen reported that Malmö FF, where Olsen played as a youth and as a senior in 2012-2015, wanted to sign the goalkeeper back.

But the Swedish club must be quick because there is already a dialogue between FC Copenhagen, Aston Villa and Robin Olsen’s people. It is a long career that is not quite over yet, Robin Olsen has in addition to Aston Villa, Malmö and FC Copenhagen played for Paok, Roma, Cagliari, Everton and Sheffield United.
