Just as surely as if there is ice on Lake Mjøsa in July, it will be a cold summer, the English press will warn that anyone who signs for Bayern Munich must drive a car from the club’s main sponsor, Audi.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has to follow strict car rules at Bayern Munich, the German giant manages to tempt him to choose them over Liverpool or Real Madrid.

Bayern Munich have thrown themselves into the race for Liverpool’s vice-captain who has not yet agreed on a new contract.

The Liverpool-born defender has less than six months left on his current deal and is allowed to negotiate a pre-contract deal with foreign clubs, including Madrid.

Kicker writes that the Spanish giants are competing to sign the England international from Bayern Munich who are also monitoring his situation, although the Bernabeu is described as his most likely destination.

Should he choose to swap the Premier League for the Bundesliga, he would play with his national team captain Harry Kane who left Spurs for Munich back in 2023 for €95 million.

Alexander-Arnold would also be forced to follow the same strict car rule imposed on the German club due to their long-standing partnership with Audi.

The German car manufacturers are shareholders of the club and give each player a new Audi vehicle that they can drive throughout the season. Players are allowed to drive their own personal vehicles on their own time, but are expected to drive to and from practice in their Audi.

The strict rule must also be followed for home games and other club-related activities. Bentley, Bugatti, and Porsche are also acceptable as they are part of the Volkswagen Group that owns Audi.

There will be consequences if the rule is broken, as winger Kingsley Coman discovered back in 2021 when he was allegedly denied access to the training ground and forced to park on the street after appearing in his Mercedes.

He also used McLaren and claimed that the side mirror of his Audi was damaged, and gave a full apology for breaking the rule again.

Kane opted for a Q8 E-Tron in black worth £58,000 during his first year at the club and explained: “I decided on a family car. Now that I have four children, I just need the space.”

This time, at the Audi headquarters in Ingolstadt, Kane opted for a similar choice – with the SQ8 SUV E-Tron 2, which is an electric vehicle worth over £80,000
