Wayne Rooney once again had to endure a defeat in his coaching career, which continues to seem like a dead end for the English legend. First, the Birmingham fiasco of NLF legend Tom Brady and the gang that ended in relegation. Then a few months as Plymouth Argyle coach, where relegation also threatens. Now the Championship club has put in place the replacement who will show that it was Rooney who failed.
We loved Rooney as a player, cheer for the 39-year-old as a coach, but don’t quite understand what the next coaching job for the United icon should be. Maybe it’s time to take a step back as an assistant coach again?
At Plymouth Argyle, Rooney is history, while the club is fighting an intense battle for survival in the second division. On Friday, Miron Muslic was tapped in as the new coach.
Muslic comes from the coaching job at Cercle Brugge in the Belgian top division.
“Miron had a clear vision of how he wanted to take Argyle forward and showed a depth of tactical awareness that made it clear exactly how he wanted the team to set up and play,” chairman Simon Hallett told the club’s website.
