When Norway’s U21 national team goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson was brought to Leeds from Vålerenga for 2.4 million euros in the summer of 2021, the joy was great.

A little over a month later, the contract was terminated and after being clubless until the end of September, the Danish club Aarhus GF took pity on the Norwegian goalkeeper and let him sit on their bench. (Got a match)

Now finally it seems that there will be games in actual football matches after Viking, who have medal ambitions this season have signed Kristoffer Kleasson on a three-year contract.

Viking, who is now in Gran Canaria while the rest of us keep the wheels turning here at home on the mountain, has received a visit from Kristoffer Klaesson just in time to present the 24-year-old as their new goalkeeper.

On Viking’s pages, Klaesson says that he is looking forward to it: “I am really looking forward to it. Viking is a big club with high ambitions, and I really want to be part of that journey and contribute with mine. I have a lot of faith that this can be a good Viking year and have got a very good impression of the whole club.

I see myself as a more adult football player and have learned an incredible amount in recent years, which has helped me a lot. So I hope you will see a more adult goalkeeper compared to when I left the Eliteserien in 2021

I have been through a lot and have had some nice years abroad, and have had my challenges that most others also have when they travel abroad. I’m just looking forward to it and don’t see it as negative at all to come back to Norway”

Klaesson has risen through the ranks in the Norwegian age-specific national teams and has, among other things, made 20 appearances for the U21 team.

We think Viking is good for Kristoffer Klaesson and the opposite that Kristoffer Klaesson is good for Viking.

We at Sporten.com have not set our tip for the Eliteserien next season, but we think Viking will continue where they left off last year. The top four will be between Bodø/Glimt, Molde, Rosenborg and Viking. (Brann without Eirik Horneland will struggle)
