He is 20 years young, Danish international and has impressed on the left wing for Leece in Serie A. Patrick Dorgu has been singled out as perfect for Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation, on Tuesday representatives got on the plane to Milan.
The hyperactive transfer journalist reported that a meeting was held between representatives from Man Utd and Lecce, where an official bid from the Premier League club was pushed across the table.
The bid was for 27 million euros plus add-ons, reports Romano, Italian Sky Sports claims it was for 30 million euros plus 5 million in add-ons.
Regardless of the size of the bid from United, Lecce quickly turned it down. The Serie A club has set a price tag of around €40 million, knowing that Napoli and several Premier League clubs are very interested in securing Dorgu.
There are no reports that Manchester United will withdraw, although they will have to jack up bids to match Leece’s expectations. Dorgu is significantly cheaper compared to two other candidates, Kerkez (Bournemouth) and Mendes (PSG).
The 20-year-old has also sent signals he wants to Old Trafford, claims Teamtalk.
The personal terms should be quick to put in place, so then it is for Manchester United to realise that another ten million euros are worth investing in a much-needed reinforcement on the left wing.
