When Nottingham Forest signed Brazilian Murillo for €12 million from Corinthians in 2023, not many beyond the Forest sphere noticed. A year and a half later, the attacking players at the Premier League clubs have struggled to face the 22-year-old centre-back.

He is considered the great football revelation for Nottingham Forest. A staple in Nuno Santo’s starting eleven, the 22-year-old contributes greatly to the former relegation club now fighting for a Champions League ticket and shows no signs of losing momentum.

The Brazilian’s big play in the Forest defence has made Real Madrid turn against Nottingham. The La Liga giant has shown his interest, but Murillo is now showing where his focus lies. On Tuesday, the 22-year-old signed a new contract with Forest, which runs until 2029.

“I’m very grateful and very happy that I get four more years. I’m sure we have a great future ahead of us,” Murillo told the club’s website.

Congratulations!
