It is almost obvious that a player of Bork Bang-Kittilsen’s calibre cannot wade around down in the OBOS-Liga. – It was a long time after the relegation to Odd was a fact an attempt to keep the 19-year-old right winger at the club, but it was eventually sold to the Swedish Allsvenskan club Mjällby AIF.

Mjällby AIF (which has the slogan “The team with speed” (Has led to some jokes in England)) has paid 100,000 euros to Odd and signed a contract until the end of the 2028 season.

Odd’s sports director Morten Rønningen has the following to say on his own website: “We thank Bork for his contribution to the club and wish him all the best in his career. We have had good conversations about the future, but Bork has chosen to move on. We respect his choice and look forward to following what he achieves in Mjällby”

Bang-Kittilsen made 32 appearances for Odd in the Eliteserien and scored four goals.

“Bork is a player that we have actually scouted and kept an eye on for a year. A player that our assistant coach Karl knows well after being together in Odd. Bork is a player who can be used both in the attacking midfield positions and as a striker. A creative and smart player who is good at creating scoring chances for himself, but also for his teammates” comments sports director Hasse Larsson on Mjällby’s pages.

The striker has represented Norway on several age-specific national teams. Among other things, he has nine games for the U19 national team, and last year he also made his debut for Norway U20.

In Sweden, Bang-Kittilsen will be teammates with, among others, former LSK stalwart Tom Petterson.
Mjällby ended up in 5th place in Allsvenskan last year.
