Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in his first week as Besiktas coach. A prestige signing for the club in crisis, a project for Solskjaer that must fit well, as this is the job he is going for after Manchester United. Solskjaer started by bringing in the veteran coach from Manchester United, now there is talk in Turkey about opening up for spectacular signing from United.
This is a totally unlikely transfer for the Turkish club, but after seeing how Galatasaray manoeuvred into the hire of super striker Victor Osimhen when the relationship between the player and Napoli soured, “anything” is possible.
At Manchester United, Casemiro has been urged by various “experts” to leave Old Trafford in order not to ruin his reputation after huge success in the Real Madrid shirt with a trophy no one else in the United squad can match.
Since Ruben Amorim’s arrival in November, it has pretty much been the bench for one of United’s highest-paid players. In January, the Brazilian is linked to Saudi Arabian clubs this could strand.
Manchester United desperately need the sale of Casemiro to finance reinforcements in January. This has caused the United management to slap on a £30 million price tag, reports Caughtoffside. The 32-year-old has not been close to delivering as in the Real shirt since his first season at United, the price tag keeps the clubs at bay.
If this happens, Manchester United will have one of the club’s highest paid players on the bench for the rest of the season. If United are to have any chance of cashing in on the sale of Casemiro in the summer (under contract until 2026), a loan to a club like Besiktas under Solskjaer’s management would be a good option.
This week, Casemiro has been linked with Besiktas, at Tuesday’s press conference Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked if he had been in contact with Casemiro (or Rashford).
“We are looking at the possibility of reinforcements in a few different positions,” Solskjaer begins, according to TNT Spor.
“Casemiro, Marcus, are two very good players, but I haven’t spoken to any of them,” Solskjaer said.
Okay, standard answers from Solskjaer, but for us, the door at Besiktas and Manchester United is not closed if Casemiro on Deadline Day goes for months on the bench with Ruben Amorim.
Galatasaray solved it with Osimhen, why not Besiktas and Solskjaer with Casemiro?
