Year, year after year, we have seen Manchester United use wages as a lever to tempt players to the club. In the “good old days” it was an honour in itself to be allowed to wear the shirt, in the last decade it has been Manchester United who have had to take the risk when signing new players. This has meant that United’s wage budget dictates that the club will fight for the biggest titles every single season. United supporters know painfully that this is not the case. Now the management is showing “a new way”.
20-year-old Patrick Dorgu is in Manchester. Transfer journalist Romano reports Manchester United pushed for signing in January, when both Napoli and Juventus were announced to sign the Danish international in the summer. So what did United have to wave about in terms of salary conditions?
Rasmus Hojlund earns £85,000 in weekly wages, Leny Yoro £115,000 (capology).
Romano claims Dorgu earns 40,000 points a week. A sharp wage increase from Lecce, but still one of Manchester United’s “worst” paid.
The salary will increase beyond the contract period. For us, this is a real sign of health in the madness of football games. Dorgu earns well, but the salary is not a sleeping pillow. Here you have to work and deliver, then the big payments will come based on the result.
