Casemiro has been announced to be on his way out since the summer. The first season in the United shirt with occasional big games has been replaced by injuries, lack of match form and mistakes on the pitch we don’t associate with the Real Madrid legend. Still, while the Manchester United management is axing around to cut costs at the club, the Brazilian has absolutely no plans to leave Old Trafford.

That being said, Casemiro has his big fans in Manchester, who are waiting to see more of the defensive midfielder. On Sunday, Casemiro got to play against Tottenham, but Ruben Amorim was under a lot of pressure with injuries, so there is unlikely to be a flood of playing time.

Spanish AS had an interview with Casemiro after Real Madrid had taken the win against Manchester City in the Champions League, then naturally the question came about Casemiro’s situation on the bench at Manchester United.

– Of course I want to play more, of course. I don’t know any football players who don’t want to play and contribute. I want to help the club during this period. I handle things with respect for my teammates and the coaching staff. And most importantly, respect for United, a club I’m very grateful for,” Casemiro begins.

“I have one and a half years left on my contract and I would like to finish it in Manchester. My family and I thrive here. We have adapted, speak English. I’m very grateful for the Old Trafford fans and the club. I’m happy here,” the Brazilian continues.

Before he adds:

– But am I happy on the bench? That is another matter.

His contract expires in 2026, so Casemiro is initially aiming to wear the United shirt next season as well.
