When it was announced in early February that Ratcliffe and the INEOS gang were once again going to sack a few hundred employees at the club, it caused strong reactions. Costs must be cut, but many believe Racliffe is now removing the “people” that the club depends on. On Monday, the big general meeting will come.

According to the Daily Mail, all employees at Manchester United have been called in for a general meeting on Monday. The attendees come with the certainty that around 200 will leave the venue without a future at United.

Cuts are expected to come in the scouting department, the English newspaper claims Ratcliffe and the United management now no longer want to hear more about how things have been done in the past at United, now all focus will be directed forward in search of progress.

Sounds like the hunt for a quick fix, but where Manchester United say goodbye to everything that was built up under Sir Alex Ferguson. Former chief scout at United, Mick Brown, told Football-Insider that many of those who lose their jobs have been with the organization for 20 and 30 years, several handpicked by Alex Ferguson.

Now we understand why Ferguson was one of the first to be removed from the salary budget in his role as the club’s ambassador. He and employees he helped handpick for the organization are no longer part of the solution.
