United icon Wayne Rooney is left between coaching jobs and uses his spare time to make headlines about Manchester United. Ruben Amorim has enough to answer questions about statements from Keane, Neville, Scholes and Ferdinand, but go for it. The United manager uses Rooney to explain why he jumped off Sporting’s success train and took the United job that is almost impossible to succeed.

Rooney had hung up on a statement from Amorim that Manchester United’s overriding goal is to win the Premier League.

“That’s the goal. It would be naïve to think that we will win the title this season or consider ourselves favourites next season. I know that right now everyone knows everything about us. I’ve been an expert myself and I know it’s very easy,” Amorim begins after the FA Cup loss to Fulham.

With an ever so small pointing finger aimed at the “experts” Rooney, Scholes, Neville, Keane and Ferdinand.

“Maybe it won’t be with me, but our goal as a club is to win the Premier League, as we have done in the past with all the stars and legends of this club,” Amorim continues. Before he puts in the final comment that we love:

“Right now we are in a difficult place, and I am not naïve. That’s why I’m here as United manager at the age of 40,” the United manager said.
