In his debut season after exiting Manchester City and Guardiola’s offer of playing time, Cole Palmer thundered with a Premier League season that was absolutely spectacular. The attacking midfielder made up such a big part of the Chelsea attack that Mauricio Pochettino admitted to concern how dependent they were on the young player. Pochettino had given Palmer confidence and perfect working conditions, now supporters are protesting against what they believe is the opposite in Enzo Maresca.
Chelsea narrowly won against Leicester on Sunday. Cole Palmer, who was the safety himself, missed a penalty. After the game, in which Palmer was substituted in the 73rd minute and walked with his head bowed straight to the dressing room after another mediocre game, supporters reacted.
The blame for Palmer’s poor form is placed on the Chelsea manager. Here is a selection from the supporters on social media, who are not merciful to Maresca.
“Maresca should be fired just for what he’s done to Cole Palmer.”
“Maresca has ruined Palmer for us. Get this man out of my club.”
“I will continue to blame Maresca for Palmer’s form this season. Bullshit coach!”

It is part of the story that Palmer has 14 Premier League goals so far this season, but seven consecutive games without scoring/assists have caused anger among the supporters.
