Mostly when Kjetil Knutsen takes Bodø/Glimt out for a match, he starts with Nikita Haikin in goal while Julian Faye Lund starts on the bench. – Since he came from Rosenborg on a free transfer in the summer of 2022, there have been a total of 18 games for Bodø/Glimt.
The hope is that there will be more in the future. “I’m part of something big, and you get a lot of cool experiences, and I also feel that I have a lot of potential that I can get out here,” says Julian Faye Lund, who has now extended until 2028 to glimt.no.
Things are not only going well for Bodø/Glimt in the Eliteserien, for which they are clear favourites this year as well. Things are also looking good in Europe.
After 3 – 0 at home at Aspmyra in the first round of the Europa League against the best club in Greece, Olympiakos, Bodø/Glimt have a huge advantage for the away meeting on Thursday. Bodø/Glimt earn over 20 million euros from their success in Europe.
“With the help of the team and the coaches, I believe that I can take further steps and perform well for Glimt in the years to come”
When Faye Lund came to Bodø in the summer of 2022, he signed a long contract. Now he has added two more years, and thus has a contract that extends through the 2028 season with Bodø/Glimt.
“We have had a good dialogue all year. I feel we have been on the same side of the issue and on the same wavelength all the way. The process has been neat and nice, and I feel very well taken care of in Glimt and in the process. I’m very happy, and I hope Glimt is too”
So far in his Glimt career, the goalkeeper has made 18 appearances. Now he hopes that number will increase considerably, while at the same time pushing and helping the rest of the goalkeeper team, which consists of Isak Sjong, Magnus Brøndbo and Nikita Haikin.
“I think it’s a lot of fun, and we have a good team. We push each other and have a good training culture, with Jonas Ueland Kolstad at the forefront. I think we all take big steps, push and help each other, and treat each other to good performances. I think that’s very important,” says Faye Lund.
On Tuesday, he will sit down with the rest of Glimt on the plane to Athens and Piraeus. The goalkeeper is looking forward to that.
“Nice weather and grass have been reported underfoot, in addition to a good atmosphere. We have good opportunities if we get up to the level we want, so it’s just a matter of looking forward
