Paul Pogba, who has recently been training hard to be ready for a return to the match arena, is now free to play professional football again after his 18-month ban.

Intense work is being done to find a new club for the French superstar. Paul Pogba has been a free agent since his contract with Juventus was terminated in November. He has since been linked with several clubs, including a third spell at Manchester United, but nothing has been signed yet.

Pogba was initially given a four-year ban from football back in February 2024 after testing positive for the banned substance DHEA. The ban was reduced to 18 months on appeal, from September 2023, meaning he is now free to play again.

The 32-year-old is currently training in Miami while he waits for his next opportunity. On Saturday, which was also the midfielder’s 32nd birthday, he was spotted attending Los Angeles FC’s (LAFC) MLS game against Austin. – A game they lost 0 – 1.

Both during and after the game, LAFC shared videos showing Pogba present. First, he met former France teammate Oliver Giroud.

Another video shared after the game shows him greeting another former teammate Hugo Lloris, before having a chat with both him and Giroud.

Pogba’s attendance at the game, as well as his training in Miami, has led to speculation that he could move to MLS. LAFC, LA Galaxy and Inter Miami have all previously been linked with the former Manchester United player.

The fact that he was present at LAFC and has friends in the squad could potentially suggest a move to Los Angeles. However, it is said that MLS salary structure rules will mean that Pogba will likely have to take a pay cut if he wants to move to an American club.

In an interview in 2024, Pogba was asked if he missed United during his period away from football and made his feelings clear. “Really, I had so many problems,” he told Sky Sports. “I didn’t have time to think about Manchester United. I needed to get rid of all my problems and play.

“I watch Manchester United and still have teammates there. They are still one of the biggest clubs in the world – but I didn’t think about more things.”
