Olympic champion from Rio 2016 and five-time world champion in rhythmic gymnastics Simone Biles returns to the sport. The American will perform at the US Classic gymnastics competition on August 4, two years after the dramatic events of the last Olympics.

Simone Biles, 26, is due to return two years after her last competition. This is according to USA Gymnastics, the gymnastics federation of the United States, to which Biles belongs.

Biles returns to the sport after a two-year break from the events of the last Olympic Games. Biles has not competed since the Tokyo Olympics, where she had to withdraw from the team and individual all-around finals due to a mental disorder she suffered while rotating on the slope in the team event.

Now the 26-year-old is due to return two years after the last competition. The US Classic, to be held in Chicago, will feature the last two Olympic champions, Biles and her successor Sunisa Lee, as well as reigning Olympic champion Jade Carey. Despite her return, Biles did not reveal the rest of her professional plans for the near future and did not reveal whether she would start at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
