Brazilian Gabriel Magalhaes has played his way into one of the Premier League’s best centre-backs under Mikel Arteta, along with William Saliba perhaps the best centre-back duo in the league. There is little doubt Arsenal will keep the 27-year-old with them, incoming sporting director Andrea Berta will lead negotiations for an extension beyond 2027. Energetic efforts are being made to ensure that Gabriel leaves the Premier League after all.
According to talkSport, Ronaldo’s club have sent signals they intend to convince Gabriel with an annual salary of a wild 20 million euros. For the Brazilian, that would mean almost tripling his current salary at the Emirates.
Arsenal will stop the advance, but if Gabriel chooses to leave the world’s toughest league and the Champions League for a container of euros, the Gunners will demand up to £100 million.
We hope Gabriel doesn’t let himself be fooled into leaving the toughest league in the world for extra money he doesn’t have time to spend in this, or the next life.
