What doesn’t fit into the profile of Ratcliffe and the United management is buy reasonably before stardom, so develop the player into a star at Old Trafford. The hysteria surrounding Dibling has caused Southampton to wave the price tag already months before the transfer window opens.

If the Saints have their way, he will be one of the most expensive teenagers in football history. – After 29 games, Southampton are by far last in the Premier League with only 9 points.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder, who Southampton believe is one of the best youngsters in English football, is being tracked by a number of clubs after a breakout season with the Saints. In fact, a total of 14 Premier League clubs have enquired about Dibling, according to the Mail, which claims that Manchester United, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City are all keen on the highly-rated England under-21 international.
There is also said to be a lot of interest from Germany, with Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig all interested in the teenager, who has made 25 appearances in the Premier League this season.
How much do Southampton want for Dibling?
A report from The Telegraph claims that Southampton are ready to charge more than £100 million for their star player, which would be more than the amount that Manchester City paid to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa in 2021.
Tottenham are said to be admirers of his profile and versatile, and have made Dibling a “priority target” after asking about the player in January. However, the report above suggests that Manchester United have “an ace card” in technical director Jason Wilcox, who knows the teenager from his time as director of football at Southampton. – But money is money is money…
Manchester United scouts also watched from the stands this month as Dibling lined up for England against Wales at Bangor City. Former Liverpool and England midfielder Danny Murphy is convinced that Dibling will be “something special” in the future.

“It’s the quality he has – the belief in himself and the physical power. He just walks past people with ease. He has a beautiful left foot. He is very brave on the ball and his decisions are good,” he said.
“It’s hard to get over the top with these young players because he’s just come to the scene, but he’s going to be something special.
“It’s great for him to get all these minutes at Southampton. They give him the freedom to play and give him time to learn the game.
“He just enjoys himself and he plays with a real belief in himself. He’s just instrumental in this team.”
