Barcelona are not giving up this season and it is hurting Real Madrid who, despite bringing in Kylian Mbappe last summer, do not seem to be repeating their success with La Liga and the Champions League trophy.
Barcelona, who tonight park Borussia Dortmund at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in the first quarter-final of the Champions League with higher numbers than Real Madrid’s humiliating loss to Arsenal yesterday, also look to bring home the La Liga title.
Carlo Ancelotti’s future at Real Madrid is uncertain. According to Spanish Relevo, the Italian coach is in danger of being fired for the season after he won both La Liga and the Champions League. Assistant coach and son Davide Ancelotti has already decided to move on.

Real Madrid are on their way out of the Champions League after a 3-0 loss to Arsenal in the first quarter-final match. In addition, the team is four points behind league leader Barcelona in La Liga.
Poor results could cost Ancelotti his job
The poor performances of late could have consequences for Ancelotti, who has a contract until 2026. According to Relevo, the club considered sacking him already several months ago, with Bayer Leverkusen’s successful coach Xabi Alonso as a possible replacement.
The defeats against Arsenal and Valencia this week suggest that Ancelotti’s fate may be sealed. The only chance to save his job may be if he manages to secure a major title in May.
Brazil on the sidelines?
Ancelotti has previously been linked with the job as Brazil’s national team coach, but it now looks like the position will go to Al-Hilal’s Jorge Jesus instead.
Thus, the experienced Italian, who has previously won the Champions League twice with Real Madrid, is in a precarious position. The club has historically been quick to change coaches when results are not forthcoming – and now another change of coach may be on the horizon.
