Lyon player Nemanja Matic made sure to get the temperature up ahead of Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final against Manchester United. The former United player used the microphone at Wednesday’s press conference to call Andre Onana the worst Manchester United goalkeeper of all time. Matic has clearly been active this week, because in a longer interview he talks about the big difference between Manchester United and Chelsea.
Matic has played for both clubs, In the red shirt (2017-22) there were no titles, at Chelsea (2009-11, 2014-17) Matic had lifted 3 Premier League trophies, plus titles in the two English cups. In a major interview with The Athletic, he talks about the biggest difference between the two giant clubs.

“The difference I experienced (between Chelsea and United) was that at Chelsea it was all about the result and winning trophies. That was the spirit of the whole club. Even the man who mows the lawn. Roman Abramovich (then owner) only asked us for results. At United, it was more commercially oriented. I started thinking about it after a few months at the club,” Matic begins.
“I understand that our wages have to be paid, but I didn’t feel that the results were in focus as they were at Chelsea. I did maybe two commercial jobs at Chelsea, but at United there were far more,” says the former United player.
