All criticism of Kevin De Bruyne last season was gone like dew in the sun after he shone in the 5-2 win on Saturday over Crystal Palace. Everyone thinks the next stop for the Belgian star will be Inter Miami, mostly for the opportunity to play with Lionel Messi.

But then in a conversation with Viasat presenter Jan Åge Fjørtoft, more information came out about De Bruyne about “offers from England”, where the 33-year-old does not rule out a move to another Premier League club. On social media, he wrote: “De Bruyne told me that he will analyse every offer he gets. I asked him about “offers from England”.

“Replied that he is not ruling out anything (any projects) at this stage, but that he has not even seen his family since the decision.”

Manchester City fans have started a campaign calling for Kevin De Bruyne to be offered a new contact. – We’ll see, an exit is still what seems most likely.

The player in question is Xavi Simons has established himself as one of the Bundesliga’s big revelators this season, and his impressive performances for RB Leipzig have sparked interest in the Premier League. According to reports, Manchester City are willing to pay over €70 million for the Dutch striker, who they see as a key player in the planned rebuild of the squad.

Xavi Simons is definitely not a player that the club wants to move on. He scored two of the goals in RB Leipzig’s win over Wolfsburg on Friday. That game was the 3rd for interim manager Zsolt Löw and at the end of March took over for Marco Rose.

Pep Guardiola’s Youth Revolution

With experienced players like Kevin De Bruyne likely on their way out, City are looking for young talent to take over. Simons, only 21 years old, fits perfectly into this strategy:

  • 10 goals
  • 6 assists
  • Key player for Leipzig this season

Tough competition – price could skyrocket

Leipzig paid €50 million for Simons in the summer of 2023 and now they can make a good profit from a resale. But City are not alone:

  • liverpool
  • arsenal
  • Manchester United

… have all shown interest, which could push the price up further.
