The alarm has gone off in the English press, now everything about Real Madrid star Luka Modric on the table has announced that he will become part owner of Championship club Swansea City.
Football fans were shocked when Modric, widely regarded as one of the best midfielders of all time, announced his ownership of Swansea. The 39-year-old Croatian has had a career that has taken him from humble circumstances to the top of the football world.

After starting in Croatia, Modric ended up in the Premier League with Tottenham, where impressive performances brought him to Real Madrid. In 13 seasons with “Los Blancos”, he has won four La Liga titles and an incredible six Champions League trophies. – A number only he and Dani Carvajal have achieved.

Modric has been married to Vanja Bosnic for 14 years, after they were married in 2010. Bosnic, who comes from a sports family – his father Milan was a basketball player – met Modric in 2007 when she worked for the well-known Croatian sports agency Mamic Sports Agency, which represented the footballer.
At that time, Modric was playing for Dinamo Zagreb, and their professional relationship developed into a romantic one. After she left her job, Vanja became Modric’s agent and played a key role in his transfer to Real Madrid for in 2012. The couple have three children together: Ivano, Ema and Sofia.
Modric’s investment in Swansea City
Although the extent of Modric’s stake in Swansea is not clear, he has expressed enthusiasm for the project:
“Swansea has a strong identity, an incredible following and ambitions to compete at the highest level. With my experience from top-flight football, I hope to be able to contribute to the club’s growth and help build an exciting future.
Swansea are currently in 12th place in the Championship, and while it is not clear what Modric’s goals are with the club, it is not expected that the investment will prevent him from continuing his playing career.
Swansea stated:
“Lukas’ investment in the club is a confirmation of our ambitions and vision. He will play a key role in bringing the club global attention and progress both on and off the pitch.
This is Modric’s first investment in a club, but he has stated that he hopes to be Croatia’s captain at the 2026 World Cup and that he wants to continue playing for Real Madrid even as he approaches the age of 40.
