Liverpool manager Arne Slot admitted that he still can’t give an update on Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future – despite Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk signing new contracts this month.
Alexander-Arnold’s contract expires at the end of the season, and he is eager to join Real Madrid on a free transfer.

“It’s nice that we’ve already announced two new deals and we can talk about it for hours – but if you want to talk for hours about Trent, it’s going to be the same answer for hours,” Slot said before Sunday’s away game against Leicester on Sky Sports.
Liverpool who can secure Premier League gold on Sunday on King Power with Leicester City who in the event of a loss or draw are lost.
“We don’t talk about these things until they’re ready, and they’re not, so that’s why we don’t make public statements about his situation.
“Trent is coming back from injury. He trained with us yesterday and every time he plays or trains with us, he shows his commitment. He has worked so hard to come back now, and when he is on the pitch, he shows me what a fantastic footballer he is, and how important he is for us to achieve our goals this season.
“He has worked hard all season, and now in his rehabilitation, to be back with the team again.
“Liverpool fans, and anyone who has followed football for the last five, six or seven years, knows that he has been an incredible full-back for this club. Let’s see what the future holds.
