English left winger Jadon Sancho is one of many who have ended up in the freezer at Old Trafford in recent years. – First it was manager Erik ten Hag who was not impressed by the 25-year-old and then, when Rube Amorim took over in November, Sancho slipped into the same situation as the new manager.
Now Jadon Sancho is on loan at Chelsea with a purchase option that the London club are not overjoyed to have acquired.

Chelsea’s commitment to sign Jadon Sancho permanently has been activated after the club’s 2-1 win at Craven Cottage over Fulham on Sunday. – Chelsea have 57 points after 33 games in 5th place. – There are five games left of the season and with that fifteen games left to distribute. Even if Chelsea were to lose all games and the ten under to win all (which is an impossibility), the bottom possible place would be 12.
The Blues can no longer finish lower than 15th in the Premier League table, which was a contractual condition for the clause to come into effect. (Incidentally, it is possible for Manchester United).
Chelsea have the option to override this commitment by paying Manchester United a fee of £5 million, but the club has yet to make a final decision on his future.

According to GiveMeSport’s Ben Jacobs, the mandatory transfer of Sancho could come at up to £25 million – a significantly lower amount than what United paid Borussia Dortmund for the winger back in 2021.
