Manchester City have reportedly told another player that he is not part of the club’s future plans, in the wake of the decision on Kevin De Bruyne.

Kevin De Bruyne’s surprising exit

Kevin De Bruyne looks set to end his legendary time at Manchester City when his contract expires this summer. The Belgian midfielder has been crucial to the club’s success, with six Premier League titles and a Champions League victory in 2023.

After the win over Everton at the weekend, De Bruyne admitted that he was “a little surprised” not to receive a new contract offer:

“A little surprise, yes. I haven’t received an offer all year – they just made a decision. I still feel I can perform at this level, but understand that clubs have to make choices.”

Bernardo Silva is also on his way out

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, City have also informed Bernardo Silva that his future lies outside the club:

“Manchester City have reportedly told the Portuguese midfielder that he is part of the downsizing and that the time has come for him to move on elsewhere.”

Silva (30), who has been at City since 2017, has attracted interest from:

  • Childhood club Benfica
  • Barcelona (long-time admirer)
  • Saudi Arabian Clubs

City Hunt Replacement

According to The Daily Mail, City are already in the process of securing replacements, and are “favourites” to sign Nottingham Forest’s star Morgan Gibbs-White (25). The England international has also attracted interest from Manchester United and Liverpool.
