Marcus Rashford has no future at Manchester United as long as Ruben Amorim is manager, and it seems inevitable that he will leave his childhood club on a permanent basis. For now, Aston Villa are favourites to keep him, but it is not certain that they will do so.
Rashford was brought in by Aston Villa in the winter transfer window after falling out of favour at Manchester United under new head coach Ruben Amorim. He has been doing quite well at Villa Park and he could stay on a permanent basis as the deal between the clubs included a £40 million purchase option.

Rashford deal could depend on Aston Villa’s playoff form
Aston Villa have not yet decided whether they will secure a permanent deal for Rashford, but as financial and football expert Stefan Borson has told Football Insider, it will not depend on PSG. Rather, it could depend on whether Unai Emery’s side climb into the Champions League places in the Premier League.
Yesterday, Tuesday, after the loss at the Etihad against the 1 – 2 loss against Manchester City, the chances of the Champins League are smaller. – There are currently 2 points up on Newcastle in 5th place, which this season is the last Champions League place.
Borson elaborates:
“It would be interesting to see what date the option expires. It is probably June 30, so they will be able to make a decision right at the end. The bottom line is that, rather than the PSR (Profitability and Sustainability Rules), it probably depends on Champions League qualification.
“Because if you do the math on the increasing cost of Rashford this season, it doesn’t matter. If you buy Rashford on June 30, it doesn’t affect the PSR accounts for this season at all, because all amortization happens next season. They already have to pay his salary, no matter how large a share it is. That cost has already been factored in for this PSR season, so the PSR impact will not come until next season.
“Of course, the PSR impact next season will depend on the Champions League. It will make a big difference in their calculations and how the numbers look, both in terms of profit and everything else.

Borson points out that Champions League football could be the key to financing a permanent transfer, as the increased income from Europe’s most prestigious club competition will make it easier for Villa to bear Rashford’s wages and transfer fees.
