But it is in the Champions League that Raphinha has really shone, with 12 goals in 12 games on his way to the semi-finals. These performances have made him a potential Ballon d’Or candidate in 2025 – but also a sought-after transfer target.
Al-Hilal comes with monster bids and giant pay
Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal has now made a bid of 100 million euros. In addition, they are offering a four-year deal worth a whopping €200 million in an attempt to persuade the Brazilian, who has previously turned down an offer from Saudi Arabia.
Raphinha former close Saudi transfer
Earlier this year, Raphinha told Globo Esporte that he was indeed considering a Saudi offer in the summer of 2023, but that Hansi Flick’s arrival as a coach and talks with a psychologist convinced him to stay.
Hard to see him leaving Barcelona now
With Barcelona’s strong position in La Liga and a potential Champions League title, it’s hard to imagine the 28-year-old leaving Camp Nou. But Saudi Arabia’s economic muscle should not be underestimated.
