Declared a genius as a Sporting coach, frustrated and partly ridiculed as a United coach. Results in the Premier League are not forthcoming, but Amorim announced it already in November. This is going to be chaos, but should prevent Manchester United from going into next season with the same problems. On the match arena, it is difficult to see anything has improved in the last 4 months, but Mason Mount promises that internally it is a different picture.

“He’s been brilliant,” the midfielder said in an interview with MUTV.

The change of formation meant that many players had to play in a system they had not played in before, Mount is familiar with it before and enjoys Amorim football.

“I had seen the way he likes to play, and the formations he has played with in Portugal. It’s something I’ve been used to from before, so I know what kind of movements he likes. It’s very similar. So I knew I could help the guys around me understand the formation.

The change doesn’t come easily, as the Premier League games show, but Mount firmly believes he sees things falling into place.

“It’s very difficult when you change from one formation to another. It can be quite a big difference, so in the beginning it takes some time to get used to it before it sits. But as soon as you get to the moment where it does, I think it can be something very special. I think we’re so close to being there. There are still small details here and there, and the small details are so important at this level, and in this type of formation,” Mount continues.

“You can see the improvements that have taken place over the last few months, and I think the results will come. We’ve worked really hard as a team, and I think in some games you can see the improvements that suggest it will work soon,” says an optimistic Mount.
